What is Frankie week? It is the week leading up to the Centennial of Frankie Manning’s Birthday in Frankie’s Hometown, NEW YORK CITY. There will be a multitude of events offered beginning on Thursday May 22nd and running thought the weekend, culminating with a final dance party on Monday May 26th, 2014.
The Frankie Trifecta events adds Three NEW Dance Parties to the mix, providing additional opportunities in New York to celebrate Frankie’s Centennial. So, if your are from out-of-town, you now have more reasons to come and celebrate.
These three spectacular nights will add to the offerings of the Frankie 100 group, which has a fabulous listing of daytime and night time offerings. From an Afternoon concert in Central Park on Friday May 23d to Special tributes, workshops, films and educational presentations during the daytime hours there will be much to attend.
Many of these Frankie 100 events are open to the public and are available to all. The Thursday Night Apollo Theater show and the Monday Night Closing Party are paid events. Do not wait to purchase your tickets. More details may be found at http://frankie100.com/events-open-to-the-public/.
In addition to the Frankie Trifecta and Frankie 100, there is plenty to keep you busy in New York City, with jazz, theater, and food. And, there will be plenty of opportunity to meet with all of the LIndy Hoppers in New York.
